Dr. Émile Carrier, podiatrist, is originally from Saint-Narcisse-de-Beaurivage in Chaudière-Appalaches. He enjoys several sports, including road cycling and downhill skiing. Interestingly, he rides his bike to work more than 90% of the time, summer and winter. This podiatrist has also lived abroad, notably in Laos for a period of 2 years. He is therefore fluent in French and English and also knows some Lao and Spanish.
He studied at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières where he received his doctorate in podiatric medicine in 2019. He participated in an internship focused on diabetic wound care at the Centre hospitalier régional de Lanaudière in Joliette and the Centre hospitalier affilié universitaire régional de Trois-Rivières (CHAUR). He also did internships in podiatric surgery practices. This allows him to educate his patients on the various foot surgical procedures.
In order to offer his expertise to the population of the National Capital Region, he obtained his license to practice as a chiropodist in Ontario in 2022 and is now a member of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
Passionate about biomechanics, he intends to pursue his knowledge in this field. In the fall of 2022, he went to Dublin, Ireland, to attend a gait analysis course of the European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children (ESMAC), of which he is a member.
